NESP Launches Music Blog

NESP has expanded its reach by launching a new website, One for the Vault – The NESP Music Network.

OFTV is a blog dedicated to all manner of music topics and events. Why launch a music specific site? We wanted a place where it could be all about the music (again). On OFTV, you will find artist, album and song discussions, interviews with bands, photos, videos, and audio clips. As our chief admin Mari says, “whatever strikes our fancy.”

Comments are welcome at OFTV, but you'll need to register. We also look forward to input from you on discussion topics. And if you're interesting in blogging, please let us know - the more the merrier.

Please take some time to check us out at oneforthevault.com.

Peace, Love, and Soul for the Holidays

Our holiday fundaising focus for 2007 was on children in need. $900 was raised through the combination of our second annual NESP holiday ornament sale and an online silent auction for Taylor Hicks autographed items. The funds were donated to the Breakwater Teen Homeless Project and other children in need. In addition, NESP members visited the shelter in December and held a holiday party.

The Breakwater Teen Shelter in Camden, ME provides a safe place to stay for youth between the ages of 10 to 17. The shelter is a low barrier shelter, meaning that barriers are lowered for youth to access the program and the shelter is not a 24-hour shelter. The shelter is part of the Breakwater Teen Homeless Project. The project provides guidance to homeless youth and youth at-risk of being homeless to help them realize their potential and opportunities.

A Taylor Hicks Summer in New England
Shake it Taylor

What an amazing summer it's been for NESP and for Taylor. From Cohasset to The Big E, NESP members made Taylor and the band feel at home as they made their way across New England. There were pre-parties, parking lot partying, meet and greets, and post parties. Oh yeah, and the shows themselves. Each show was hotter than the last, with Portland and Concord being heart-stopping and full of surprises. We were indeed taken to church!

From cold beer and a luai, to fugly shirts and New England goodies, the infamous stool, and the quilt that love built - we showered Taylor and the boys with gifts, and got lots of love in return! Not only did our love for Taylor grow, but so did our love and appreciation for his band and crew. Taylor certainly surrounds himself with the best.

We wrapped up our summer of Taylor with NESP's first birthday celebration at the Big E in Springfield, MA. What a celebration it was. NESPers were resplendent in their teal NESP logo shirts and Soul Patrol lanyards. We received a lot of attention from Big E attendees that day, and from the local newspaper, thanks to our PR person, Karen. NESP members were their usual generous selves, sharing the Taylor love and helping other show attendees have the best time possible.

Visit our Forum for recaps and photos from all our summer adventures, or Gettin' Together for some of our other Taylor adventures.

In addition to our website, we have a Forum where our members can talk with each other, post and read information on Taylor and on music in general. Joining is easy, just click here to register.
