The Greyhounds Taylor connection 2007 & 2009

Taylor Hicks Sits in with Trube, Farrell, and Sniz at The Continental Club, Austin, TX 10/14/09 from rajrae on Vimeo.

Early in Taylor's 2007 tour (March) three guys calling themselves The Greyhounds opened for Taylor in Myrtle Beach, SC and Asheville, NC. ... Amyebo, Margaux and I (& my DH) were at both of those shows. ... Don't remember now what they thought of the band but, while DH and I liked them better at the Orange Peel in Asheville than at the HOB in Myrtle Beach, we still felt they were " a work in progress "

When read that Taylor might be sitting in with them last week at the Continental Club while he was in Austin, I was curious as to what they might sound like now.

Thanks to rajrae we get to find out . . there's some very nice harmonica playing by that gray haired dude too.

A quick search yielded that The Greyhounds consists of Andrew Trube and Anthony Farrell . . apparently the drummer - Sniz - joins them for club gigs and they bill themselves as the trio for those.

To mix it up a little more . . seems they joined JJ Grey's band this past June . . . Greyhounds website and JJ Grey and Mofro website . . and are currently doing a short run with them.
