Danny and RCA Records Nashville initially chose "It's Only" as his first single. In fact, that debuted on a country radio station in early November.

However, USA Today's Brian Mansfield tells us that the label has changed its mind on what song they will use as Danny's first single.

"RCA decided to go uptempo rather than with a ballad," Mansfield told AI Now. He continued, "Country likes to lead with tempo whenever possible. And, 'It's Only' was still new enough they could make the switch. They hadn't really started pushing for adds yet."

Danny's new single will be called "My Best Days Are Ahead Of Me" and it has already been posted on Danny's official YouTube & Myspace accounts.

USA Today reports that "My Best Days Are Ahead Of me" was written by Marv Green (Lonestar's Amazed, Reba McEntire's Consider Me Gone) and Kent Blazy (Garth Brooks' (Ain't Goin' Down) 'Til the Sun Comes Up, Chris Young's Gettin' You Home (The Black Dress Song)).

“I love this song for what it stands for,” Danny says. “I don’t live in the past. I live in the ‘now’…in the future…and in the dreams that I have. I know that my best days really are ahead of me.”

19 Records/RCA Nashville explained the switch by saying, "As country radio programmers who were in Nashville for last week’s CMA Awards began hearing some of his songs, the feedback was overwhelming: they loved the uplifting, up-tempo “My Best Days Are Ahead of Me.”

Danny's management tells AI Now that this single will arrive on country radio within the next few days and will be available for digital download on December 22nd.

I am curious to see if he will be embraced by country fans...a little skeptical. I like his voice most of the time and like his personality but I think the lyrics I've heard so far are a little corny... I feel the same way about New Found Freedom.

I'll admit that the lyrics so far have been a little "light". His voice would be so much more suited for an R&B sound, but what the heck would he sing about? He's just not the "gonna sex you up" type of singer and suffice it to say, he's too white. Country music, the way it is right now, seems the logical choice. And country music is full of corn. Who else sings about tractors and harvesters? Wink

Another new song from Danny, "Tiny Life" written by Jeffrey Steele. He's battling a cold right now, but overall I thought it was pretty good. I like the lyrics in this song.

Will have to listen to these when boss leaves-thanks for bringing them over. I agree on New Found Freedom-the lyrics are really corny. I normally love corny songs but sometimes a little goes a long way! NFF almost sounds like background music to a commercial to me. LOL maybe for sneakers or something?

I love Danny's voice-the raspy-ness to it. He's songs are so meaningful..about life.
